This individual must be positive, reliable, personable, and will have an eye for detail with strong analytical and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of accounting and administrative practices
  • Related experience in an accounting/finance-based role
  • Completion of a recognized accounting certificate and/or equivalent work experience required
  • Team player with ability to adhere to tight timelines and work under minimal supervision

Employment Opportunity | Director of Finance

 

 Reporting to the President, the Director of Finance will join DCI LP’s Senior Leadership team to oversee and manage the financial functions of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and keeping the company’s year-end financial statements, corporate filings, and corporate records, and monitoring the overall financial health of the group of companies. This is a full time, permanent position based in Whitehorse, Yukon.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in finance or accounting
  • A CA, CGA, CPA, or CMA designation
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accepted practices
  • Ability to use strong financial knowledge to advise others in the company
  • A minimum of 7 years’ leadership experience working in finance roles
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with team members and management
  • Experience in developing and implementing business plans
  • The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines by using multitasking and organizational skills effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and can work with minimal supervision
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) with proficiency in relevant accounting software
  • Must be Bondable and be able to pass a Criminal Record Check
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
  • Must be able to travel (Approx. 25% of the year.)
  • Must be willing to relocate to Whitehorse, Yukon
  • Experience working in or with the Indigenous community this would be a considered an asset.

Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

 

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the good working order of Northerm’s facility and equipment. This individual is the first point of contact for any maintenance-related items and has ownership of the maintenance processes & procedures for the physical plant and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • General building maintenance and repair;
  • Ensures all equipment and vehicles are serviced on a regular basis and kept in good working condition;
  • Maintains all service and repair records and maintenance schedules;
  • Performs smaller-scale repairs on site and outsources as necessary;
  • Supports sub-trades hired for service/repair as required;
  • Monitors related consumables;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other

  • 2+ years in a similar maintenance role;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of various pieces of equipment, and maintenance procedures;
  • Ability to operate equipment (Bobcat, Forklift, Boom and Platform Lift, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks and ensure urgent items are completed in a safe and timely manner.

Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Reports to: Production Manager or Designate

Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible to inspect, test, and troubleshoot our products. This individual will work with the production team to ensure appropriate procedures, standards, and specifications are in place. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable, hands-on team player, taking pride in our high-quality products.

 Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspects incoming material and completed product to customer specifications;
  • Conducts ‘root cause’ analysis when defects occur and implements corrective actions;
  • Develops and maintains QA Manual, KPIs and associated documents;
  • Control of Records (Quality Documents, Certification Records, Fabrication Manuals, Equipment Maintenance and Repair Logs);
  • Tests window and door systems to the certification standards of IGMAC and NAFS (AAMA/WDMA/CSA101/I.S.2/A440-08NAFS);
  • Monitors work in progress for compliance to standards;
  • Provides reports to Management on weekly and monthly basis;
  • Other duties as required.

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other:

This individual will possess excellent problem solving, leadership, and communication skills with strong attention to detail;

  • Minimum of Grade 12 completion plus a College Diploma or equivalent working experience;
  • 5-8 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry required; specific to windows and doors considered an asset;
  • Digital fluency in a variety of platforms (computer skills, internet skills etc.); experience with CAD not required but considered an asset;
  • Committed to delivering a top-quality product to our customers.

Position Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for the seamless, economical operation of the facility’s manufacturing departments. The incumbent will ensure corporate targets are met and will possess the knowledge and leadership skills to maintain a safe, respectful work environment where products and services exceed company standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the manufacturing and production of company products, including adapting and adjusting production schedules & levels to meet business and customer expectations, including annual department targets;
  • Sounds understanding of manufacturing process with the ability to optimize process efficiencies;
  • Works with Human Resources and other stakeholders to ensure positions are staffed, the work environment is safe, and employees are engaged;
  • Responsible for cost analysis and optimal budget planning;
  • Collaborates with team members as necessary to ensure customer demands are met;
  • Execute quality control processes to resolve problems in production and ensure that all manufactured products meet quality standards;
  • Manages the day to day aspects of the Production Department – scheduling staff, tracking and managing inventory, overseeing maintenance of equipment and working with customers to ensure their needs are met;
  • Ensure that all WCB and Health and Safety obligations are met within the team;
  • Assist the General Manager with assigned projects such as industry research, automation initiatives, business planning etc.;
  • Other duties as required.

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other

 This individual will possess excellent problem solving, leadership, and communication skills;

  • Minimum of Grade 12 completion plus a College Diploma or equivalent working experience;
  • 5-8 years experience in the manufacturing industry, with at least 4 of them being in a role that required accountability for productivity, quality and profitability;
  • Experience in a LEAN manufacturing environment with some Engineering experience considered an asset;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and digital fluency (computer skills, internet skills etc.);
  • Motivated to learn and grow and bring out the best in our team members.
